Description
The story of Vanderley Azevedo Artisanal Cachaça began in 1940, when Sérgio José de Araújo (Vanderley’s grandfather) came to the town of Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais, in search of diamonds. He later gave up the search for diamonds and set up a warehouse to sell food and drinks to the diamond mine workers. In 1968, his grandson Vanderley Azevedo began working with him in the warehouse, where he was responsible for bottling the cachaça.
In 1984, Vanderley Azevedo bought a farm to produce his own cachaça. Cachaça Vandeley Azevedo therefore has a 35-year tradition.
Even if he didn’t find any diamonds, Sérgio would be proud of the rarity that his grandson has created. A cachaca of unique quality with a great complexity of aromas and flavors, ironically more sought after in the region today than diamonds.
Vanderley Azevendo Grapia is aged for 3 years in barrels made from grapia, a tree native to Brazil. It has notes of tropical fruit, with a subtle sweetness, smooth flavor and balanced alcohol content.
